Artwork Guidelines
When we use art you provide, the customer assumes full responsibility for all claims and/or litigation arising
from alleged infringement of licenses, patents or copyrights on any requested design or copy. It is assumed by Street Graphex that
artwork submitted for printing is being used in full compliance with all applicable laws regarding its usage. Having said that...
First, about the art.....
If the artwork needs to be scanned or requires a color change a minimum charge of $25.00 will apply.
Artwork will be billed at the rate of $50.00 per hour. If you are sending us a hard copy of
your artwork, it should be clean of any smudges or wrinkles and should be larger than actual size you need imprinted.
Please remember that a scanned image will only look as good as the artwork provided. (garbage in/garbage out)
Small text and detail will look blurred. It will be possible to have our artists re-create your hard copy files
at the rate of $50.00 per hour. We will contact you about your project if this is necessary.
Second, send a file that we can accept.....
Artwork should be provided in any of the below listed file formats. All fonts must be converted to outlines or
must be included (postscript). All files must be in CMYK, not RGB. Please indicate any PMS color codes.
Adobe Illustrator (.ai files)
Adobe Photoshop (.psd files)
Encapsulated PostScript (.eps)
Portable Document Format (.pdf)
Tagged Image File Format (.tiff)
Please Zip all files over 5MB. Any other file formats will be reviewed to determine
the best course of artwork setup and an estimate prepared accordingly.
Third, The Proof, a very important step to our process.....
Upon completion of a proof, the graphics department will e-mail a digital format file to you for review.
Faxed or hard copy paper proofs can also be sent to clients as an alternative to a digital file. We require this request in writing.
The client is responsible for approving the proof. A SIGNATURE IS NEEDED in order to proceed
with production. A digital OK is acceptable to us. We retain all correspondance with the paperwork.
Please Review your proof carefully, WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ERRORS OR OMISSIONS ON PROOF SIGNED
OFF BY CUSTOMER.
Please remember that a minimum $25.00 setup fee will apply to artwork that
needs to be edited or scanned or that requires a color change. All graphic fees are based on a
$50.00 per hour rate and will be billed for actual hours. Our full service graphics department
will be happy to work with you to create your designs but will require the successful completion
of a credit application. Please call 605-938-4549 to obtain your credit application.
No graphics work will be done unless billing information has been obtained.

FYI... Copyright Information for Artists: How Copyright Laws Protect Your Art
The moment you create ANYTHING visual - paintings, drawings, photographs, sculptures,
etc - the only person who is allowed to copy that art is you. If you decide to sell prints of one of your
paintings, you can. If anyone else does, without your written permission, you have the right to take
them to court and sue for damages. In fact, copyright laws are so strong that your family or legal heirs
will still own the copyright to your artwork until 70 years after your death. Artists that display their
work online or allow their art to be published in books or magazines often put a copyright symbol (along with
their name and the year the artwork was created) next to the reproduced image. This practice isn't actually
necessary - you still own the copyright, even without using the symbol - but at least this will remind people
not to copy your work. You should also be aware that even after selling an original work of art to a collector, you still
hold the copyright to it. The buyer cannot make prints or sell copies of your art unless you’ve given
them that express permission in writing.
